Everybody Jam! is a music album produced by Ingo Kays & Tony Catania and released in 1996.

This was John Larkin's second album of his "Scatman Project", which was influenced by the sucess of his first album.

Background[]

Owing to the massive success of the "Scatman's World" album ,the follow up followed the same path and themes. Everybody Jam! contained more tracks under those themes but used more sounds as new technology were used for the album. The album went under multiple different titles early in production, including "Journey Of Fantasy" and “We’ve Got To Learn To Live Together” but was replaced with the title of the first single to make the cut from the album. The album started production on November 25, 1995, and was finished in April 1996.

The track "Everybody Jam!" was a tribute song to Louis Armstrong (which is one John's favourite artists). It was originally called simply "Satchmo" (Satchmo was Armstrong's nickname, which is a merge of the words Satchel Mouth).

The track had a video made for it, directed by Hannes Rossacher and his DoRo Productions team, and shot in New Orleans for approx $500.000. It featured John meeting the ghost of Armstrong and dueting with him, it then turns to a mardi gras style street party with John and Louis riding along in a Limo waving to the crowds. John's nephew Steve was featured in the video, too.

Japan[]

Before this album's release, John was everywhere. He appeared on many television shows, usually performing his common songs like "Scatman (Ski Ba Bop Ba Dop Bop)" and Scatman's World. He was also featured on many magazines and newspapers from the time, like FOCUS, and his songs were usually on the radio.

John was also requested by companies like Kanebo and Glico to be featured in commercials promoting their products.

"Su Su Su Super Kirei" was the second track off this album to spawn a music video, this time a little less extravagant than "Everybody Jam!" The video featured John in a featureless room riding a mini trike, producing flowers like a magician and dancing around. He is also filmed in a basement and a cgi kitchen.

Besides "Everybody Jam!" "Let It Go" was also released as a single, although the album version does not feature on it. No video was made for the track. “[We Got To Learn To] Live Together” was originally planned to be a single.

Legacy[]

It wasn't as successful commercially as the debut but still had enough energy and passion to keep John in the game. The Japanese release of the album, again, featured a different cover and 5 bonus tracks.

While it didn't obtain much attention on Europe, John's popularity got huge in Japan.
